Momo Ghar is one of the old and popular eateries of the city of Guwahati. And today they celebrated their 29th anniversary as the Momo Day in their Ambari outlet.
Speaking on the occasion, proprietor Tapan Kumar Baruah expressed his thanks and gratitude to his customers who have been eating at his eateries over the years. Starting with only one outlet in Ambari in 1993, Momo Ghar now has four outlets across the state of Assam.
Popular actor Kenny Deori Basumatary was also present for this celebration with co actor Montu Deori from the upcoming Assamese movie – Local Utpaat. Mentioning that he has been a customer of this eatery since 1997, he expressed his happiness on its 29th anniversary.
This year the eatery celebrated their day with a big momo eating competition. Participants competed with each other to see who could finish a plate of momos in the least possible time. They had to choose from the options of vegetarian, chicken and pork. And of all the participants, Nishankar Das won the contest. He managed to finish his plate within 54 seconds. It was the first time that this student of Abhigyanam Academy participated in any eating contest.
