This year’s version of the annual photography exhibition and competition organised by the Photography Club of Assam, Pohor 2021 was officially launched today by the executive members of the club.
Pohor 2021 had more than 2200 entries, out of which around 900 were selected for the exhibition. All the photographers in exhibition have been divided into six different categories. And this is the 9th version of the exhibition and the 2nd virtual edition of Pohor. Making this version of the event, the biggest till date.
Since the exhibition is now open, the judges will now go through the entries to select winners of various categories. With awards worth more than INR 60000 up for grabs this year, the completion is going to be very close this year mentioned the Chairperson of Photography Club of Assam, Bidyasagar Baruah. He also said that the results will be declared after ten days on the Pohor 2021 website (www.pohor.co.in).
The ongoing COVID – 19 global pandemic forced the organizers to move the exhibition from a physical to a virtual domain since last year. The previous year’s version of the exhibition had about 200 pictures on display with awards worth nearly INR 25000 for the winners.
