Rising Sun Water Festival 2023 to be Organized in Deepor Beel

The Rising Sun Water Festival is a water-sports event organized in the Northeastern part of the country. It is organized by the armed forces along with the state government. The organizers are planning to organize this year’s Rising Sun Water Festival in Deepor Beel. Located in the largest city of the region, the Deepor Beel is a Ramsar Wetland. It is also home to a large variety of aquatic as well as avian life. 

To discuss the details regarding the event, the General Officer Commanding of the Gajraj Corps, Lieutenant General Manish Erry, met with the Chief Minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma. The meeting was held in the office of the CM on May 21. It was attended by several members of the army as well as the state administration. 

They discussed several key points regarding the planning and organizing of the event. Apart from giving an opportunity to the local participants, this event also generated immense tourism prospects. It also aims to increase the interest in the Armed Forces among the local people.

A prospective site map was also discussed by the key organizers. It was later revealed over the popular microblogging site Twitter. It showed several key points including a boat room, shed, refreshment area and viewpoint. 

Rising Sun Water Festival 2022 was organized by the government of Meghalaya along with the Indian Army. The event was organized in Umium Lake and saw participants from all over the country.
