More and more women of the country are now taking action towards becoming financially independent. To celebrate the indomitable spirit of these ladies, Udyamita Mela 2022 was organised today. The event was organised in the Shanti Nizora Club of Bamunigaon camp in Kamrup district of Assam. The event was attended by Chaygaon MLA, Rekibuddin Ahmed along with representatives from different organisations.
Efforts and work done by several government and non government organisations were also presented in this event. Several self help groups, successful entrepreneurs and members of corporate were also present. It also marked the success of Project Pragati by Dhriiti and InterGlobe Foundation by felicitation of the women who have been involved with this project since last four years. Project Pragati is an initiative towards areca nut leaf plate cluster development. It has been created in partnership with Tamul Plates Marketing pvt. ltd. The cluster comprises of thirty women with home based manufacturing setup. Additional 350 ladies are involved as raw material collectors and machine operators.
Udyamita Mela 2022 also had learning and knowledge sharing sessions for the rural entrepreneurs. Representatives from Bangaon and Chaygaon Block Office educated them about different options of livelihood, digital finance and financial inclusion. Several successful women also shared their experiences to encourage more and more women in this path.
