Nagaland Zoological Park celebrated the 68th Wildlife Week along with the Turtle Survival Alliance. The event was organised on the 7th and 8th of October this year in the campus of the Nagaland Zoological Park.
This year it was celebrated with the theme Recovering keystone species for ecosystem restoration. The events were organised on the 7th and 8th of October in Nagaland Zoological Park. And the two day event was flagged off with the participation of 120 students from different educational backgrounds. Participants came from Unity College, Tetso College, Eastern Christian College and St. Joseph’s University. They showed real enthusiasm in the celebration and took part in several of the events organised to mark this occasion. These included face mask painting competition, wildlife quiz, a pledge campaign and distribution of information leaflets. The students also interacted with the employees an visitors of the zoo. And the winner of various competition were also facilitated.
Several eminent conservationists were also present for the Wildlife Week celebration. The included Ved Pal Singh, IFS, Chief Wildlife Warden and Addl. Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Government of Nagaland and Dr. C Zupeni Tsanglai, Director of the Nagaland Zoological Park among several others. Mr Singh was the chief guest of the occasion. Two electric rickshaws were also given to the park for easier movement of senior citizens and child visitors inside the park.
