Photography Club of Assam Starts POHOR 2021

Pohor 2021, the ninth version of the annual photography competition and exhibition organised by the Photography Club of Assam begins from today. Following the steps of the previous version, this year’s competition too will be completely online.

Pohor 2021 will consist of a total of six Categories as follows.

  1. ESSENCE OF NORTHEAST – Images of Northeast India that include landscape, culture, travel, monuments, people, location-based star trails etc.
  2. PORTRAITURE – Human portraits that include color, monochrome, conceptual, candid, studio(indoor/outdoor), environmental, fashion, wedding etc.
  3. NATURE’S TREASURE – Images from all over the world that include objects of nature bird, animals, insects in the wild, flora and deep space astronomy.
  4. STORIES FROM THE STREET – Images that include candid moments, street portraits, life in the street etc.
  5. WORLD THROUGH MY LENS: Images from all over the world that include landscape, culture, travel, monuments, people, location-based star trails etc.
  6. FINE ART PHOTOGRAPHY – Images that include composite, conceptual, abstract, surrealistic, light trail etc

With the success of the online exhibition under Pohor 2020, as well as the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we have decided to host this year’s event as a complete online contest and exhibition.

Last year Pohor 2020 had a total of five categories and saw more than 1000 entries from more than 200 participants. And a total of thirty nine awards and certificates worth around INR 25,000 were given out by the organizers.

The organizers expect more and better entries towards Pohor 2021 compared to any previous edition.

Pohor 2021 is going to be much more grand compared to any previous version. This year we are planning to give out a total of forty six awards and certificates worth nearly INR 60,000.

With the submission system made completely automatic, people can now upload their with ease. Each participant can give a maximum of three entries per category. Rules and regulations of the competition are available here. And this completion is open for all professional and amateur photographers.
