Delhi Football Club, the newly promoted I-League team mounted the pressure early on. They were able to score early on in the match. And Himangshu Jangra from Delhi Football Club scored the first goal of the match in the sixth minute. Hyderabad Football Club mounted their attempts for an equaliser from then on. But they failed to do the same in the first half. 12 minutes into the second half, Ramhlunchhunga managed to score the goal that Hyderabad was waiting for. Thus bringing the score to a 1:1 draw. The rains however played spoilsport during the Group E match and led to very limited audiences. Heavy rains began minutes before the start of the match. And continued through the first half of the match. But the rains hardly had much effect on the players, except for the occasional miss of footing. The second half was comparatively better as the rains subsided and the water moved out of the ground quite fast. The next match on this ground is on Tuesday, August 8. Shillong Lajong FC comes face to face with FC Goa in the match.
