ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Trophy displayed in Guwahati

India is the host country for the prestigious ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023. As a part of the preparation for the tournament, the tournament trophy is on a tour across the country. As a part of this tour, the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Trophy is in Guwahati. It was formally unveiled at Assam Cricket Association Stadium in Guwahati on Wednesday.

BCCI Joint Secretary Devajit Saikia attended the unveiling. So did Assam Cricket Association President Taranga Gogoi and Secretary Tridib Konwar. Several members of the ACA Apex Council Members and former members were also present. A large number of former cricketers and enthusiasts also attended the event. They officials unveiled the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Trophy in the auditorium of the 91 Yards Club.   

Speaking on the occasion, Devajit Saikia called this a proud moment for Guwahatians. He also mentioned that the trophy will visit a total of 18 countries before the tournament and even to space. He also mentioned that the hosts have taken proper care to ensure that the enthusiasts have a great time. And the tournament will be an awesome opportunity for all cricket lovers of the country.

In the first half of the day, the trophy was displayed in the South Point School of Guwahati. So that the students of the school along with the teachers and administration could view the trophy. 

The Assam Cricket Association Stadium of Guwahati will be hosting warm up matches of the tournament. The BCCI Joint Secretary mentioned that the stadium is completely ready to host the matches. He added that India, England, Bangladesh and Afghanistan teams will play matches in the city.

The first match in the ACA will be between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh on September 29. And the ticket prices are Rs 200 (Students), Rs 300, Rs 500, Rs 700 and Rs 1000.
