India loses the semifinal match against England in the ongoing world cup to get washed out of the tournament. It was the second semi final of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022. Adelaide stadium was the host for this important match.
Batting first, the Indian team managed to score just 168 with the loss of 6 wickets at the end of the stipulated overs. England managed to overtake that score comfortably in just 16 overs and managed to keep all its wickets safe.
Hardik Pandiyan and Virat Kohli were the only batsmen who could score in the match. Hardik Pandiya hit 63 runs in 33 balls, Virat Kohli scored half of a century in 40 balls. Performance of Indian bowlers was even worse, as they could not get a single English Wicket.
Cris Jordan was the star bowler of England as he claimed 3 Indian wickets in his stipulated overs. He gave away a total of 43 runs in his overs. Chris Woakes and Adil Rashid claimed one wicket each. The openers for the English team Jos Buttler and Alex Hales managed to finish off the match. The captain scored 80 runs out of his 49 balls and Alex Hales scored 86 out of the 47 balls.
This result puts an end to the Indian cricket team’s campaign in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia.
