Northeast United FC played the final match of its Durand Cup 2022 campaign against Sudeva Delhi FC and won it with a 2 : 0 score.
Northeast United FC finally managed to score a win in the match against Sudeva Delhi FC. The first half was the match remained goal-less, but the home team dominated the second half. And managing to put two goals against the Sudeva Delhi.
But this win came too late in the tournament since the team is already at lower end of the Group-D. Owning to the 6 : 0 defeat in the first match against Odisha FC, a 3 : 1 defeat against Army Green FT in its second match and 3: 0 defeat against Kerala Blasters FC in the 3rd match, Northeast United FC was at the bottom of the group. Also Sudeva Delhi FC ends their Durand Cup campaign with its position towards the last of Group -D. Similarly Army Red FT and TRAU FC managed to end with the bottom positions of the Group – C.
There is one last match left of Group – D in Guwahati between Odisha FC and Army Green FT. Imphal also has two matches left Army Red FT vs Hyderabad FC and Neroca FC vs Chennaiyin FC.
