Just like the previous edition, Guwahati will host several matches of the 132nd Durand Cup. This year, the tournament will continue from 3rd of August to 3rd of September. And Guwahati is one of the three host cities for this year’s edition of Durand Cup.
Guwahati will host matches of two groups of the tournament. The Indira Gandhi Athletics Stadium in Sarusajai of Guwahati will host a total of eleven matches. These include the group level matches of Group D and Group E and a Quarter Final Match. The organizers have also released the schedules of the matches to be played here. Guwahati will host its first match of the tournament on 4th of August and the last on the 26th of August.
The Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium will host the opening match of the Group D. And home team Northeast United Football Club and Meghalaya’s Shillong Lajong Football Club will play this match. This match will kick off at 6 PM on the 4th of August. And the opening match is expected to draw a huge number of spectators from both Guwahati and Shillong.
Delhi FC will face Hyderabad FC at 2:30 PM on 6th August in the first match of Group E. Goa and Shillong Lajong will compete in the next match on 8th August at 3 PM. Chennaiyin FC faces Hyderabad at 3 PM on 10 August. Northeast United and Goa FC play the next match in Guwahati at 2:30 PM on August 12. Chennaiyin FC faces the team from Nepal, Tribhuvan Army FT at 3 PM on August 14. The next match will be between Goa FC and Downtown Heros FC at the same time on August 16. Delhi will face Chennaiyin FC at 3 PM on August 18. Northeast United will face the Downtown Heros FC in the following match at 3 PM on August 20. And Hyderabad will face Tribhuvan Army at the same time on 22nd August in the last group match.
Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium will also host the Qualifier- 3 of the tournament on August 26.
