Traffic regulations for Match Day in Guwahati

With the T20 international match scheduled for tomorrow, the city is going to face large traffic movements. To maintain order, Assam Police has issued a number of traffic regulations in and around the stadium. The following are the traffic regulations in place in Guwahati.

Entry gates and details for the match

  • Gate No-1B: This gate is reserved for the invitees only with car passes. They have to enter via A.K. Azad Road, Barsapara Tiniali to Barsapara Stadium.
  • Gate No. 2 on Barsapara Road : entry is via Barsapara Tiniali (AK Azad Road).
  • Gate No. 3 on R.G. Barua Path : entry is via Godrej Gali/ Rolling Mill (AK Azad Road).
  • Gate No. 4 on Rolling Mill Road : entry is via Rolling Mill Tiniali (AK Azad Road).
  • Gate No. 5 on Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Path : entry is via Raghunath Road, (AK Deb Road).
  • Gate No. 6 on Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Path : entry is via Raghunath Road, (AK Deb Road)
  • Gate No 7 on Barsapara road : entry is via BarsaparaTiniali (AK Azad Road).

Parking of vehicles for spectators :

For vehicles coming via AK Deb Road, these are the options available.

  1. Champabati Field.
  2. Datalpara Field
  3. Champabati Field to Garchuk Tinali (Single line road side parking in one side).
  4. Ambari Rangpathar Field.
  5. GMC parking near R.G. Baruah College.
  6. PWD Filed, Fatasil Ambari.

For vehicles coming via AK Azad Road, these are the options available.

  1. Cycle Factory Field near Bishal marriage hall,
  2. Lalganesh to Saukuchi bridge (Single line road side parking in one side).
  3. Sunrise club, Colony Bazar to Barsapara BSNL office (Single line road side parking in one side).
  4. Rolling mill parking field.

Restrictions on vehicle movement.

  1. Commercial goods carrying vehicles of 4 wheels and above restricted on NH-27 and NH-17 within Guwahati from 9 AM of 2nd October to 2 AM of 3rd October.
  2. Commercial goods carrying vehicles of 6 wheels and above restricted on NH-27 and NH-17within Guwahati from 9 AM to 11.30 PM on 1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th October.
  3. 3 and 4 wheeler goods carrying LMV vehicles are allowed to enter the city only from 4 AM to 9 AM on 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th October.
  4. A.K. Azad Road (Lakhra road) will be 1-way from 12 PM of 2nd October to 1 AM of 3rd October. The vehicles can go from Cycle Factory side towards Lakhra Chariali. Only car pass holder will be able to enter from Lakhra Chariali.
  5. On 2nd October, Barsapara Road from Barsapara Tiniali to Dhirenpara Tiniali will be one way for vehicles with car passes. Vehicles without car passes shall not be allowed to enter from Barsapara Tiniali except local residents. There will be no entry of vehicles from Dhirenpara Tiniali towards Barsapara Stadium.
