The Inspector General of Forests, Dr. Amit Mallick has sent a letter to the Field Director of the Kaziranga Tiger Reserve appreciating the efforts and actions of the staff in the field of Tiger Conservation.
In a letter addressed to the Field Director, he expressed his admiration towards the work of the front line workers. These people worked hard to maintain the safety of the park animals. Specially so during the dire times of the COVID-19 global pandemic. On behalf of the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA), he also thanked the Field Director for the nominations towards the National Tiger Conservation Authority’s Bagh Rakshak award for the year 2021.
Kaziranga National Park was established as Kaziranga Proposed Reserve Forest on the 1st of June 1905 by the then British Government in India. The Kaziranga Tiger Reserve started in 2006 with the aim of protecting the national animal. And with the efficient administration and protection of forests, this reserve now has one of the largest population densities of this big cat in the world.
Alongside this letter, Certificates of Appreciation were issued to Bishnu J Gogoi and Paplu Rabha for working in the field of tiger conservation during the times of the COVID-19 pandemic by the National Tiger Conservation Authority.
Also, a similar letter of appreciation was given to the Manas Tiger Reserve of Assam.
