A documentary on the success story of one-horned rhinos conservation at Assam‘s Kaziranga National Park along with former cricketer Kevin Pietersen will be premiered on National Geographic (Nat Geo) channel on the occasion of World Rhino Day on 22nd September.
The documentary titled ‘Save This Rhino- India’ will be premiered at 1 PM on Nat Geo and the repeat telecast will be shown at 9 PM on Nat Geo Wild.
Kevin Pietersen got involved into rhino conversation whole-heartedly after retiring from the world of cricket. Through this documentary Pietersen hopes to raise awareness on rhino conservation as well as bust certain myths relating to rhinoceros horns.
The documentary emphasizes the fact that 80 per cent of the rhino population resides in flood plains. Hence, if Kaziranga ceases to exist, so will the one horned rhinos.
The former cricketer made his way to Kaziranga earlier in March to shoot for the documentary. During his visit, Pietersen shared several photos on his social media platforms of him spending time with the locals.
Kaziranga is one the most important protected areas which has carved a niche for itself in the protection and conservation of wildlife. It is also a popular tourist spot in the state. Read more about Kaziranga National Park here.
