Beating Covid-blues has been quite a challenging task for a lot of people. What’s even harder is to maintain your calm with so much happening around you.
To solve the problem, few youngsters in Ukhrul district of Manipur floated a unique and insightful idea. Together they installed a free mini library at the Zingkar Wonra Park. Located at Hallang village, the park is a popular recreational spot surrounded by the scenic natural beauty.
“With the wings clipped, this pandemic has gotten us mostly in solidarity with less social interaction. We are finding ways to fight through this. For introvert this is nothing new. To extrovert this is something harsh against their hormones. In either case it’s boredom that has surge like virus. It becomes impediment without nothing”, the team of the park expressed their initiative on social media.
“To endorse one activity: Go venturing. Acquire one of the most treasured adventure- reading book. One may confide that’s not my taste. Then, read where the wind blows whistling the good old jazz, grasses growing tall without any hesitancy beneath the umbrella of deciduous trees. The bird chirps musical tune to all listeners. Come and read a book. The smell of air is refreshing and reading can cheer your frowny soul. This little servitude of reading in nature’s beauty is all the beginning for a marvelous adventure. It taste sweeter than you ever have tasted”, they added.
In a lush green spot inside the park now rests this cosy adorable library. All visitors to the park can now access the mini library free of cost. Currently, the library contains few collections of different genres. The team is planning to add more books soon.
Just a few days after its installation in August; Pasei, an experimental pop up book shop donated books to this library.
