The Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the newly constructed Dyoni Polo airport in the capital of Arunachal Pradesh today.
While speaking during the inaugural event of the new airport, Narendra Modi reiterated the importance of the Northeastern part of the country in the development of the country. He also praised the use of locally available natural resources towards the decorations of the airport.
Pema Khandu, the chief minister of Arunachal Pradesh was also present for the event along with several other dignitaries. Speaking on the occasion, he thanked the PM and the central government in making the airport project a reality. This airport will definitely help the state and the entire region in terms of air connectivity. The state of the art runway at the Dyoni Polo Airport allows the landing and taking off of large planes. Thus boosting both tourism and other businesses across the state and nearby regions.
The prime minister also inaugurated the newly constructed 600 Mega Watt Kameng Hydroelectric Power Project. He did it virtually from an event in Itanagar, the capital of Arunachal Pradesh. Another key announcement was the removal of ‘bamboo’ from the Indian Forest Act. This makes it a more viable commercial product for different purposes.
