Abhigyanm initiates their 10th Drama Workshop for school children

Guwahati: A drama workshop for young children has been undertaken at Adingiri in Maligoan by the socio-cultural organisation Abhigyanm. The twenty-day-long workshop was officially flagged off through an initiation ceremony on Monday, July 1 2024.

Abhigyanm is a socio-cultural organization in Maligaon, Guwahati. And the organisation has been conducting workshops on various topics at different times since its inception. It also conducts drama workshops for young children twice every year. It organises these special workshops every winter and summer, co-ordinating the same with the school vacations. On Monday, Abhigyanm inaugurated its 10th edition of the Summer Drama Workshop. This workshop will go on for a total of 20 days today. 

The workshop was formally inaugurated by the Deputy Principal of Sankardev Shishu Niketan, Mukunda Deka. In his inaugural address, Mukunda Deka addressed the participants and their parents and said that it is necessary to learn not only to become a good actor but also to participate in these practice camps or workshops to establish oneself as a good person in our society.  The inaugural ceremony was attended by the supervisor Ranhang Chowdhury and Abhigyanm secretary Barsha Devi who also shared her knowledge regarding multiple topics with the participating students. 

The twenty-day workshop will be undertaken at the Abhinayanm Natya Khetra, located in Adingiri Hills. The location itself is in the midst of lush greenery, providing a completely natural environment. The participating students will be given multiple lessons pertaining to various aspects of drama and other key skills in a completely natural environment. And a play will be staged after the workshop by the participating students. The workshop will continue till the 20th of July.  The workshop will be attended by young playwright and director Kuldeep Talukdar, and actress Ajanta Hazarika. Multiple experts from diverse fields will also be taking special knowledge-sharing and interactive sessions for the participants.
