Assam govt on Friday extended the deadline of the renewal of all types of excise licences till 15th June.
The decision of extension was prompted by the COVID19 threat and subsequent lock down imposed by the state government. The office of Excise commissioner released a statement on Friday announcing the extension.
As per a notification issued by the department earlier, wine Shops were not allowed to sale liquor until the new MRP is registered by the Department and duly notified.
The retailers were directed to pay the additional Excise duty and VAT for the stock under the possession through treasury challan online portal.
Bottling plants and breweries were directed to arrange for pasting of new MRP sticker by masking the old MRP on the stock. The order was applicable to all excise products except the country’s spirit.
