Kamrup Metropolitan District Administration has ordered to observe 26th September as a dry day on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Assamese saint scholar Mahapurush Srimata Sankardeva. During this period, possession, distribution of spirituous, fermented or intoxicating liquor or other substances of alike nature is strictly prohibited.
All wholesale warehouse IMFL retail OFF and ON shops including club ON hotel ON and country spirit shops will remain closed in the Kamrup (M) district on the afore said date.
The order further stated that any violation of the above will attract penal action as per law
