Assam Police on Saturday started a special helpline service for senior citizens of the state in order to make help available to them during this second wave of Covid-19. This information was given on their official Facebook Page and Twitter Handle.
Due to various reasons like employment , lack of transportation , Covid -19 infection, etc. , a lot of senior citizens have been living away from their children. With no one to monitor their health and take care of their daily needs, these people are becoming more and more susceptible to corona infections.
The services given by these helplines will include the following .
- Facilitating movement for Covid Vaccination during the lockdown if slots are booked.
- Arranging a personal visit to check on their well-being if the person is alone or doesn’t have anyone to take care of them.
- Supplying essential supplies or medicines (not related to covid treatment and if not available locally).
- Liaison with health authorities.
- Any other distress call.
In order to protect and support them during the global pandemic , Assam Police has started a new helpline service specially for the senior citizens of the state during the ongoing second wave of the Covid – 19 pandemic and the lockdown. The list comprising of two dedicated numbers per district was published in the notification.
The notice published the central helpline numbers +916026900973 , +916026900976 , +916026900968 and +919132699735 in the notification. Whatsapp facility are also available on these numbers.
