More than 11000 boys and girls from across the state of Assam are preparing to present Bihu to the entire world. The event to set the world record by Bihu presentation. This event will take place at 5:30 PM on April 13 at the Sarusajai Stadium in Guwahati.
While a total of 11140 performers took part in the practice sessions of April 11, 11134 took part on Wednesday. All the girls and boys who are scheduled to perform in the event have been given badges and wrist bands. These will be used for identification and monitoring purposes during the events.
Unlike the previously decided schedule, performances will be held on two days instead of the previously decided one day. First the 11000 plus people will perform Bihu infront of the people from the Guinness World Records. Public can also view this performance on Thursday without the need of any passes to see the world record being made. On the second day, they will perform infront of the Prime Minister and other dignitaries. Pass holders will also be able to view this performance.
The authorities have accommodated the boys and girls in hotels and hostels across the city. Busses have been arranged to transport them to and from the stadium. The chief minister also announced Rs 25000 as gift to all be boys and girls performing in the event.
Preparations are being made across the city to ensure the success of the event. The traffic department has put in restrictions to ensure smooth movement of the vehicles.
