Assam: Latest Surveillance, Containment, Caution Guidelines

Government of Assam has announced that the earlier guidelines for surveillance, containment and caution issued by MHA on January 27 will come into force immediately. The announcement was made in a statement issued from the office of Assam State Disaster Management Authority.

As per the statement, the guidelines will remain in force until further orders.

As per the earlier guidelines, state and UTs shall take all the necessary measures to promote Covid-19 appropriate behviour and ensure wearing face masks, hand hygiene and social distancing.

Social, religious, sports, entertainment, educational, cultural, religious gatherings subject are subjected to SOP of the state/UT concerned.

Cinema halls and theatres are subjected to SOP issued by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in consultation with MHA.

Swimming pools are subjected to SOP by Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports in consultation with MHA.

Exhibition halls are subjected to the SOP issued by department of Commerce in consultation with MHA.

These orders come into effect in view of the rise in the number of Covid cases across the country. Believed to be a new strain of the virus, this has renewed the chances of infections. State governments across the country are now taking steps to keep it in containment.
