An awareness campaign to make people mindful about child abuse was flagged off from the Child Welfare Committee Office in Bishnupur area of Fatasil in Guwahati, Assam.
The flag off was done by the Chairperson of Child Welfare Committee, Kabin Goswami and the Director of Childline Guwahati, Nijara Das. The Joint Secretary of the Indian Council for Child Welfare , Rekha Baruah also attended the flag off ceremony. Child Welfare Committee members Dr. Neelima Goswami and Kalyani Khaklary were also present during the event.
The campaign will consist of two vehicles marked with details of the project and travelling across the city. These vehicles will have members from various stakeholders to disembark necessary information to the public. They will also have experts to explain and help those belonging to the lower income groups about the problems of child abuse. Alongside explanations, they will also distribute broachers and pamphlets among the citizens. The campaigners will also visit the slums of the city.
This campaign will be carried out by Childline, Guwahati Urban ADP and World Vision India.
World Vision India had also carried out another awareness campaign recently which was aimed at increasing COVID-19 vaccination in the West Guwahati constituency of Assam.
