Assam Government announced dry day for 48 hours in poll-bound constituencies of the state starting from 6pm 25th March to 6pm 27th March
The decision of banning sale and consumption of alcohol during all the three phases of Assembly Elections to a ensure smooth electoral process.
As per reports, there will be a total ban on the sale of liquor, distribution of spirituous, fermented or intoxicating liquors or other substances at a hotel, public eating house, tavern, shop or any other places within a polling area during the period of 48 hours.
As per the order, the dry day will also remain effective on the day of counting votes as well as on the day of re-poll.
