Emuthi Puthi is the next Assamese movie to be released in theaters across the state tomorrow.
This film is a brilliant presentation of the complexities of a simple Assamese family. The stories of the family involves the actions of the ladies of three generations of the same family. It is the about the adventures and mis-adventures of the ladies as they travel from their home in Lower Assam to a mythical destination in Upper Assam. It brilliantly showcases the good side as well as the bad side of humans in the country. And all these interwoven with the fabrics of Assamese folklore.
The acting of the three ladies played by Pratibha Chaudhary, Neetali Das and Srishti Sharma are impeccable as they try to balance between their personal lives and their family requirements. The comic timing of Kenny Basumatary will manage to keep laughing even in serious situations. The music and cinematography mange to do justice to the simple plot and the Assamese lifestyle.
A red carpet premier of the movie was held today in the PVR in City Center in Guwahati. And this event saw the presence of all the cast and crew of the film. Another show was held previously on the occasion of the Mothers’ Day.
