Fat Belly, a restaurant chain based in Guwahati city decided to host a lunch during Bihu for the delivery partners working for the food aggregators to thank them for their services during the Covid induced lockdowns . The event was hosted around Bihu in their Commerce College outlet.
Dhiraj, one of the partners of the restaurant chain spoke to Discover East about this initiative. He said “We hosted a lunch for the delivery partners on the occasion of Bihu. It is a small token of our appreciation for the relentless service who work really hard in order to make sure that our customers can still enjoy our food, even during the lockdowns” .
Fat Belly is restaurant chain managed from Guwahati . It serves oriental cuisines and has multiple outlets inside the city. It also has branches in Jorhat as well as Kolkata. It is also one of the most favorite eateries of the city with multiple awards under its belt.
When restaurants were closed for dine-in and open only for pick-up and delivery , the delivery boys from the aggregators like Zomato and Swiggy were mostly responsible keeping the restaurants afloat and providing restaurant food to Guwahatians.
Previously Fat Belly has also supported social causes in the past . It had sponsored the first version of EATucation hosted by Guwahati Foodie wherein experts of various fields explained career options to the girls of Kaliram Baruah Girls’ High School in Guwahati.
