The tourists onboard the Ganga Vilas Cruise is now in the last leg of their journey. They stooped at several important points on the trip including the Kaziranga National Park.
The long distance cruise liner stopped at the historically important Tezpur before moving moving further upstream on the Brahmaputra river. The Deputy Commissioner of Tezpur, Deba Kumar Mishra and several other dignitaries welcomed the guests in Tezpur Jahajghat. They were greeted with traditional Nepali and Satriya Dance presentations. The visitors were also treated with traditional laru-pitha in the welcome event before they visited the ruins at Dah Parvatiya and the Cole Park.
After Tezpur, the cruise stopped at the Kaziranga National Park. The visitors took a safari in the park and had a great time spotting the diverse wildlife in the park. They had a great time with the elephants belonging to the park authorities ase well. Videos of some of the tourists feeding the elephants also went viral on social media.
The authorities of Biswanath had also prepared well to welcome the tourists on Saturday after leaving from Kaziranga. The group was given a warm welcome soon after they landed at the river port. The tourists also tried their hands at Bihu dance alongside the local people who organised this event.
The tour comes to an end in Dibrugarh on Tuesday. Preparations are underway in the region to welcome the guests after a more than a month-long trip. They traveled through multiple states of India including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and finally Assam.
