Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday visited the Covid Counselling Centres ( CCC ) in Guwahati. The health ministers was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup (Metropolitan) district Biswajit Pegu. The duo took stock of the situation at the counselling centers.
The Covid Counselling Centers ( CCC ) project was started two days back on the 27th of June. These centers are designed to collect random samples from public across different wards of the city. The step to set up these CCCs come after a steep increase in the number of Covid positive cases in the city.
The Health Minister inquired about the requirements and going operations in the counselling centers. He also asked about the number of samples taken so far.
A total of 31 Covid Counselling Centres ( CCC ) have been set up by Assam government. There is one center in each of the wards of Kamrup Metro. Apart from collection of swabs from people who visit, these are also equipped with dispense medicine, collect samples from home in case the patient has mobility problems and even directly transfer a seriously ill patient to a hospital.
Two ambulances have been kept stand by at each CCCs. These CCCs are equipped with necessary medicines. Doctors, nurses, auxiliary nurse midwives (ANM), technicians and school staff are also assigned for each CCC. Transfer of positive patients to Covid hospitals are also duties of the CCC .
