Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday announced that House-to-House Covid Testing will begin in Guwahati from the 7th of July. This first of its kind mass testing in the state shall begin in parts of Ward no-2 of Guwahati Municipality.
The Pandu area of Ward No 2 has seen a very high number of Covid 19 cases. Making it the first location for this project. The Health Minister also said that the target is to complete 3000 tests in the Ward within next two days.
Guwahati has entered into a critical situation with rapidly increasing cases of Covid-19. Within 2 days the city recorded more than 1300 positive cased of Covid-19.
Previously Assam government had set up 31 Covid Counselling Centers across the city . This step was taken for taking random samples for covid testing of public.
