Latest Standard Operating Procedures for Assam

The Health Minister of Assam, Keshab Mahanta, has announced a set of new standard operating procedures for the state for further control over the COVID situation.

These instructions will be valid from the morning of 16th June to the morning of 22nd June 2021.

Key points of the latest SOP are as follows.

  • Government officials and other employees who have taken both doses of the vaccine must report for duty.
  • Compete lockdown may be issued to completely stop spreading of COVID. If the numbers do not decrease by 21st June, complete lockdown will be issued.
  • Containment zone will be declare if 5% of the citizens of urban areas or 10% citizens of rural areas are infected.
  • Curfew hours decreased by one hour in urban areas. That is, from 2 PM to 5 AM
  • Inter-district travel remains closed till the morning of 22nd June.
  • Dibrugarh, Nagaon, Tinsukia, Cachar and Sonitpur will be maintained under strict vigil. Complete lockdown of these districts will be issued if infection rate does not come down.
  • Only twelve hours of curfew daily in the districts of Majuli, Bongaigaon, Chirang, West Karbi Anglong, Udalguri, South Salmara, Dima Hasao and Charaideo.

There was no change mentioned about the timing of eateries or allied businesses in the latest standard operating procedures.
