Guwahati: The temple management committee of the Maa Kamakaya Devalaya have warned the devotees regarding websites and apps accepting money on behalf of the temple. The temple management issued a statement in this regard to share the necessary information.
The notice mentioned, “It has come to our attention that certain Websites and Apps are offering online pujas in the name of Maa Kamakhya Devalaya, soliciting large sums of money from devotees. We would like to clarify that such activities are not legally sanctioned by the Maa Kamakhya Devalaya authorities.”
The notice further informed the devotees that the Maa Kamakhya Devalaya does not authorise any online platform whatsoever to conduct any puja on behalf of the temple authorities. The authorities added that they have not authorised anyone to accept any financial transaction made in the name of online pujas. Hence they can be potentially fraudulent in nature.
The temple authorities also warned that engaging or promoting any unauthorised online puja platform or app in the name of the temple is against the law of the land. Adding that they will be taking legal action against such apps or websites or anyone involved with them.
They also urged the devotees and the public to exercise utmost caution and verify the authenticity before making any offerings online. The notice also called on the public to report any such incident to the appropriate authorities. And this will enable the authorities to take necessary action against such fraudulent behaviour.
The notice also mentioned that all necessary information regarding the temple and its services is available on the official website. The official websites of the temple are ‘https://www.maakamakhya.org’ and ‘http://maakamakhyadevalaya.org’.They also added the genuine email ids of the temple authorities with the notice. The following are the official email ids: ‘maakamakhyadevalaya@gmail.com’; ‘mkdguwahati@gmail.com’ and ‘mkdonlineghy@gmail.com’.
The notice also mentioned that the only services offered by the websites are Online Booking- Special Darshan and Online Booking-For Defence Personal. And calling on the devotees and general public to work with them to preserve the sanctity and legality of religious practices.
