Ferries are the most important mode of communication between Jorhat and Majuli. And these ferries are operated several times to and fro between both banks. Both local people and tourists use these ferries to travel to Majuli and back. The timing of these ferry services are different for summers and winters. This is due to several factors including level of water on the river and the presence of fog. The authorities have released the timings for the upcoming winters which will be valid from the 1st of October 2023.
Ferry timings from Kamalabari Ghat in Majuli
The first ferry will leave the dock at 7 AM everyday. The second ferry will be at 7:30 AM followed by the next one at 8:30 AM. The fourth vessel will leave at 9:15 followed by 10 AM. The following ferries will be available at 10:45 AM, 11:30 AM, 12:15 PM, 1.30 PM and 2:15 PM. The final ferry will leave from Kamalabari Ghat at 3 PM.
Both government vessels and single boats will operate on this route. Government vessels will be available at 8:30 AM and 9:15 AM in the morning and 2:15 PM and 3 PM in the afternoon. Single boats will be operating on the rest of the timeings
Ferry timings from Neamati Ghat in Jorhat
The first ferry will leave the Neamati Ghat dock at 7:30 AM everyday. The second ferry will be at 8:30 AM followed by the next one at 9:30 AM. The fourth vessel will leave at 10:15 followed by 11 AM. The following ferries will be available at 12 PM, 12:45 PM, 1:30 PM, 2:15 PM and 3 PM. The final ferry will leave from Neamati Ghat at 3:30 PM.
Government vessels will be available at 8:30 AM and 9:30 AM in the morning and 3 PM and 3:30 PM in the afternoon. Single boats will run on the rest of the timings.
