While the vast majority of India is reeling under a severe heat wave, the Northeastern part of the country. And this has led to severe flooding in different parts of the region, specially in the Dima Hasao region.
Hence water logging and severe landslides due to heavy rain between Jatinga Lumpur and New Harangajao, between Bandarkhal and Ditokcherra sections and other several locations in Lumding – Badarpur Hill section of Lumding division. So services of several trains have been cancelled and partially cancelled, short terminated and short originated. Details are as follows.
Partially Cancellation or Short Termination or Short Origination of following trains.
- Train No. 15888 Guwahati – Badarpur Tourist Express – starting journey on 14th May has been short terminated at Langting and will remain partially cancelled in between Langting and Badarpur. Train No. 15887 Badarpur – Guwahati Tourist express – starting on 14th May, has been short originated at Langting and will remain partially cancelled in between Badarpur and Langting.
- Train No. 15615 Guwahati – Silchar Express – starting journey on 13th May has been short terminated at New Haflong and will remain partially cancelled in between New Haflong and Silchar. This train continue as passenger special with the stoppage of 15616 Silchar – Guwahati Express in open timings.
- Train No. 13173 Sealdah – Agartala Kanchanjungha Express, starting journey on the 13th May, has been short terminated at Maibang and remained partially cancelled between Maibang and Agartala. Train No.13174 Agartala – Sealdah Kanchanjungha Express, with journey on 14th May, has been short terminated at Badarpur, originated at Maibang and will remain partially cancelled between Badarpur and Maibang.
- Train No. 12504 Agartala – Bangalore Cant. Humsafar Express, beginning journey on 14th May, has been short terminated at Badarpur and will remain partially cancelled between Badarpur and Bangalore Cant.
- Train No. 01665 Rani Kamalapati – Agartala Special, starting journey on 12th May, has been short terminated at Lumding and will remain partially cancelled between Lumding and Agartala. Train No. 01666 Agartala – Rani Kamalapati Special, commencing journey on 16th May, will be short originated at Guwahati and will remain partially cancelled between Agartala and Guwahati.
- Train No. 14038 New Delhi – Silchar Express, starting journey on 12th May, has been short terminated at Lumding and will remain partially cancelled between Lumding and Silchar.
- Train No. 02983 Bangalore Cant. – Agartala Special, commencing journey on 13th May, has been short terminated at Guwahati and will remain partially cancelled in between Guwahati and Agartala. Train No. 02984 Agartala – Bangalore Cant. Special, starting journey on 17th May, will be short originated at Guwahati and will remain partially cancelled in between Agartala and Guwahati.
Cancellation of following trains
- Train No. 15641 Silchar – New Tinsukia Express, starting journey on 14th May, has been cancelled between Silchar and New Tinsukia. And the same for Train No. 15642 New Tinsukia – Silchar Express, commencing journey on 15th May.
- Train No. 15626 Agartala – Deoghar Express, starting journey on 14th May has been cancelled between Agartala and Deoghar. Same for Train No. 15625 Deoghar – Agartala express, beginning journey on 16th May.
- Train No. 15611 Guwahati – Silchar Express, starting journey on 14th May, 2022 has been cancelled and so is Train No. 15615 Guwahati – Silchar express, commencing journey on 14th May.
This list of trains cancelled due to severe flooding and landslides was released by the Northeast Frontier Railways earlier today.
Update:
A special emergency helpline number 03843268419 has been set up at Ditokcherra to help stranded passengers and their families.
Special train from Damchara to Badarpur will run for evacuating passengers in Ditokcherra. Most passengers have already boarded the special train at Damchara. Some passengers have also been airlifted by the Indian Air Force up to Silchar.
Passengers stranded at the New Haflong station have been transported by buses to Maibang. Thereafter they will be moved to Guwahati via special relief trains.
