The Hon’ble Supreme Court of India has already issued a directive prohibiting the any manufacture / sale/ storage/ use of fireworks or firecrackers producing beyond 125 dB (A-1) or 145 dB (c). Following this directive the following prohibitions have been issued from the office of the District Magistrate of the Jorhat district.
In the likelihood of the display and use of different types of fireworks and firecrackers on the occasion of Diwali, Kali Puja and Chhat Puja. With the chance of miscreants using this as a chance of creating disturbances.
The following are prohibitions mentioned.
- Manufacture or storage or sale and use or display of fireworks beyond the permissible limit.
- Manufacture or sale and use of all kind of rockets.
- Manufacture, sale or use of fire-crackers generating noise level exceeding 125 dB (A-l) or 145db (C) at a 4 meter distance from the point of bursting.
- Use of of fire crackers beyond permissible time.
- Use of fire works at any time in silence zones at defined in S.O. 1046(E) issued on at 22.1.2011 by the Ministry of Environment & Forest Definition of silence zone.
- Use of fire fireworks within the 100 meters radius of petrol pumps, petroleum product storing places, LPG storage area, Vulnerable installations, Microwave stations, Power House etc.
- Sale use of fireworks on public roads or footpath or thorough fares etc.
- Throwing of fireworks towards pedestrians or vehicular traffic etc.
- Selling and bursting of fire crackers other than green fire crackers.
- Selling of crackers without valid license from competent authority.
This order will come into force with immediate effect and will remain in force until further order. Any violation of this is punishable under Section 188 Indian Penal Code.
