Photography Club of Assam (PCA), the premiere organization for photographers of the region, launched the 8th edition of their annual exhibition POHOR on the 25th of September. Keeping in mind the current Covid -19 global pandemic, PCA created this year’s exhibition completely online. The website was launched in the presence of limited number of executive members of PCA.
Photography club of Assam decided to take a new route due to ongoing Covid-19 pandemic situation to cater to it’s members and esteemed followers regarding it’s annual exhibition POHOR by avoiding print and go virtual. The vision and the hard work paid and it has evolved into a website per excellence .
Bidyasagar Baruah – Hon. Chairperson, PCA
Started in 2013 in Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra, this exhibition aims to showcase the works photographers from the region and beyond. Hundreds of photographers and enthusiasts have participated in the past seven editions of this exhibition.
Named as POHOR 2020 – The Digital Edition, this version of the exhibition received more than 2500 entries from across the county and even abroad. Out of which a total of 650 were selected across five predefined categories.
On its journey which started in the year 2013, POHOR is providing a National platform to the photographers of this region to showcase their excellent work in this field. We are hopeful and we are planning to make POHOR experience more exciting in the coming years.

Categories of the Exhibition
POHOR 2020 had a total of five categories for the entry and showcasing. Each category has its own set of specifications and awards.
- Northeast, As You See It – for the images to showcase the region and culture of northeast India.
- Portrait – for capturing human emotions, and more.
- Wonders of the Wild – for the exquisite wilderness of nature.
- Street Stories – for the millions of stories that you pass on your way in daily life.
- Postcards From the World – for those who want to show the world through the lenses.
Selection of images was one of the hardest things to do in this edition of the exhibition. Also the challenge of organizing everything online was a tremendous work for the team. With the hope that we have done justice to the hard work and efforts of so many talented people, we request everyone to kindly check out all the beautiful pictures.
