Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated two foot over bridges in Guwahati on Monday. One of bridges is located at Christian Basti and other one at Ganeshguri. The bridges were built at the cost of about 20 crores as stated by the Health Minister.
The bridges have been made with Switzerland technology and are equipped 24 hours CCTV surveillance. The bridges have automated elevator and ramp for divyang as informed by the Health Minister.
Facilities like 2 way escalators, customized perforated screen cladding, special illumination, open space and gardening are also available.

The Health Minister inaugurated three more foot over bridges across the city on the 14th of February. These new foot over bridges are located in Kamakhya Gate, Ganeshguri and Khanapara respectively.
All of these structures are equipped with staircases and escalators for people who are able to use them and lift facility for the elderly and specially abled citizens. Designed with ease of use in mind, these will enable people to cross the busy road safely even in the peak hours. Also bringing an end to the traffic issues caused when pedestrians cross the road.
Two more foot over bridges are in the way to completion in the city. They are in Adabari and Boripara regions of Guwahati .
