The College of Veterinary Sciences, Guwahati organized an exhibition and sale on the occasion of the World Egg Day 2021, on the second Friday of October.
With the theme of this year’s World Egg Day selected as Eat Your Egg Today and Every Day , this event aims to spread the information about the humble egg. And to establish this super-food as a part of the daily diet.
This exhibition was created to showcase the products and processes used by various stakeholders in the state. It had multiple varieties of poultry on display. Several varieties of chicken, duck, pigeon were showcased in the event. These can be reared for both eggs and meat. Even exotic birds like turkey were kept for show. Special varieties of eggs were also put on sale and display.
Feed, equipment and medicines necessary for keeping and selling poultry for both eggs and meat were part of this exhibition. This would provide both education and supplies as well as market connectivity to anyone working in the field. Experts to answer technical queries were also available in the event.
This is a part of efforts of the state government of Assam to make it self sufficient in the food sector.
