In a bid to promote the food processing sector of Northeast India, the Confederation of Indian Industry will be organizing Foodpro North-East 2023. The event will be organized from the 14th to the 16th of September this year. The Maniram Dewan Trade Centre in Guwahati will host this event.
Foodpro North-East 2023 will have the theme “ Growing the Market for Food Processing in North-East”.
CII Southern Region has been organizing this event since 1995. And over the years, the event has seen overwhelming support from industry stakeholders. As a recognition of the growing market in the region, the first Foodpro of the Northeast region will be taking place.
The Northeastern region of the country is already known for its natural beauty. The fertile region also provides ample opportunity for making it a hotspot for the food processing industry. The agri-based businesses also have great support from the central government. Thus, making it an important destination for the food processing industry. With ample prospects for generating employment in several sectors. These include processing, packaging, transportation, advertising and marking industries.
The Ministry of Food Processing Industries of the Government of India is supporting this initiative. It will also get participation from other government nodal agencies like the Spice Board and the Central Food Technological Research Institute.
The three-day exhibition will see the participation of over 50 exhibitors from all over the country. It will have multiple conferences along with several B2B, B2G and B2C meetings. The organizers mentioned that they are expecting over 6000 visitors from across the country. They will also organize a Conference on Food Processing during the Foodpro North-East 2023. This conference will take place on September 14 and see participation of over 200 people. These include senior management from food processing and agro-based industries. Stakeholders from various allied sectors will also attend this event.
