As the latest round of rains and floods have caused even more devastation in the Barak Valley of Assam, Flybig and Assam Tourism Development Corporation have restarted flights between Guwahati and Silchar.
The second round of rains and landslides severed all road communications of the region to the rest of the state. In order to revive emergency transportation service of people, Flybig and Assam Tourism Development Corporation are flying flights at fixed cost. For tomorrow and the day after, Guwahati to Silchar flights will be timed at 6 PM while the returns will be at 7:15 PM. From the 20th of June onwards the timings will be 7:45 AM and 8:55 AM respectively.
Seats on this place cost a fixed amount of Rs. 4000 each. Tickets can be booked from the ATDC office Paltan Bazar of Guwahati or Deputy Commissioner’s office in Cachar. One can also call 8135902973 or mail atdcflightservice@gmail.com to book to these tickets. Online payments can also be made for booking these tickets.
In the previous wave of floods when all communications were cut off to the Barak Valley. And Flybig came together with ATDC to provide affordable passenger services when the remaining airlines were charging unacceptable high prices for the same.
