Union Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju on Saturday questioned the authenticity of a report suggesting that women in Arunachal Pradesh are highest alcohol consumers in the entire country.
A social media page posted a statistical report of female alcohol consumers of the country on July 27, 2020 putting Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim in the top two position of female guzzlers in the country.
The caption of the pictorial report also read that “Drinking is common among women from scheduled tribes (7%) than from any other caste/tribe group.”
Kiren Rijiju, who hails from Arunachal shared the post on his social media account quoting, “This is an interesting data! But on what basis you put my State Arunachal Pradesh on the top for men and women.”
