Nagaland to Reopen all Schools and Colleges by 1st August

In view of the recent decrease in the number of Covid-19 cases in the state, Nagaland has decided to reopen its educational institutions gradually. This information came on a tweet by Mmhonlumo Kikon, Advisor to the Government of Nagaland on Information Technology and Communication, New & Renewable Energy, Science & Technology.

He also mentioned that tourists with complete vaccination against Covid-19 are welcome into the state. This point follows the steps of various other states and Union Territories of the country which allows completely vaccinated people to enter the state without compulsory testing on entry. Quite against this trend, the Government of Assam has re-instituted compulsory testing on the entry points of the state (air and railway) in order to prevent further infections.

He also informed that the Higher Secondary institutions and colleges of the state shall reopen from the 26th of July this year. Also the rest of the classes of schools will start from the beginning of the next month, that is the 1st of August. Also vaccination of all staff is a must before reopening of the educational institutions in the state.

As Nagaland announces to reopen of schools and colleges in state, the neighboring state of Manipur goes into complete lockdown for ten days starting on the 18th of July in order to control the spread.
