In a bid to promote the tourism sector of the state, two five-star hotels will be coming up in the northeastern state of Nagaland. These will be the first five-star hotels in Nagaland. The tourism directorate signed an agreement regarding the same with the Hotel Polo Towers Group. The agreement between the Tourism Department of Nagaland and the Hotel Polo Towers Group makes way for multiple projects. These include a star-category hotel and a mall in Dimapur. The second five-star project will come up in the capital city of Kohima.
According to a statement, the two upcoming hotels will have over 200 extravagant rooms. And they will serve the high-end tourism clients coming to the state from across the world. The project in Dimapur will encase several top-of-the-line facilities. These include accommodations, multiple dining options, entertainment centres, retail shops etc. While the project in Kohima will give an ‘unparalleled luxury hotel experience’. Thus catering to both business as well as luxury travellers and taking the tourism sector of the state a notch up.
They also announced that these projects will be developed under the Public-Private Partnership Model. And a total investment of Rs 150 Cr is the estimated budget for the same. Following which, it will operate on a Design, Build, Maintain, Operate, Manage, and Transfer (DBMOMT) basis. The statement also mentioned that the projects will open within the coming 3-4 years by the Hotel Polo Towers Group.
It can be noted that the Hotel Polo Towers Group is among the biggest players in the sector. They also have multiple projects across Meghalaya and Assam to cater to the accommodation needs of tourists. They have a total of nine operational projects including the one in Kolkata and five more in construction. The Director of the Nagaland Tourism Department mentioned this as a milestone for the tourism sector.
