The new regional airline of India, Flybig has announced the creation of a new sector of operations in the Northeastern part of the country. This will be between the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International airport in Guwahati ( IATA – GAO ) and Lilabari Airport in North Lakhimpur ( IATA – IXI ).
Flybig will use this sector to run flights between Guwahati and North Lakhimpur four times in a week. These flights will be on every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday starting from the 4th of November. Tickets for these flights have also been made available at a very low price of Rs. 999.
The airline will also start Guwahati – Agartala direct flights twice a day. These will be available on every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. And this service will start from today, that is the 1st of November.
Being the only airline with a base in Guwahati, Flybig aims to provide connectivity among the tier-2 and tier-3 cities of the country, specially in Northeast India. They operate ATR 72 type aircraft to allow budget travel in these regions. It also works under the UDAN scheme of the Government of India. And is aimed to provide budget air travel to the citizens of the country. This boosts the tourism sector of all the Northeastern state.
