Assam is next in this list of awards. The breathtaking Kaziranga National Park bagged the Gold category. It won in category of the Best Wildlife Destination in India.
Meghalaya bagged a Silver in a very important category. Mawlynnong of Meghalaya received this award for the Best Eco Tourism Destination of India.
The Khonoma village of Nagaland came into the tourist map after the news of it being the first Green Village. Now its beauty and sincerity has won it the Silver category for the Best Offbeat Destination in India.
These are only few of the popular tourist destinations of Northeast India. This region has many destinations yet to be explores and developed. If managed properly, this region has immense potential in the travel and tourism sector.
