Owned by Vinay Dube and backed by Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, Akasa Air got their first plane, a Boeing 737 MAX, delivered in the month of June. Under the SNV Aviation Pvt. Ltd. ,their fleet currently has two planes. They received the permission to fly, the Air Operator Certificate, from DGCA earlier this month. The entry of another budget airline in the aviation market will definitely help the customers of the country.
Update : Akasa Air is also planning to add services to the Northeastern part of India. Flights connecting Agartala to Guwahati and Bangalore are planned to start by the end of August or beginning of September.
