In view of the building tension between the citizens of the Northeastern states of Assam and Mizoram followed by the recent death of personnel of Assam Police in the hands of Mizoram Police and other miscreants, the Government of Assam has issued a travel advisory to to its people against going to Mizoram.
This travel advisory came as a tweet by the official handle of Assam Police.
Citing the multiple violent fights in the border region of the states in the last few days as the reason, the state of Assam has issued this order. The aim of the same is to provide any further losses to human life and property.
The most recent violence occurred on the 26th of July in the Cachar district of Assam, wherein six police personnel from Assam lost their lives and many more are still admitted in multiple hospitals at different parts of the state. Including the Superintendent of Police, Cachar who had to be air-lifted to Mumbai in view of the bullet injury on the 26th.
Due to the availability of proof of the presence of illegal arms and ammunition in the hands of civilians and the provocative statements issued by several organisation over social media as well as electronic media against Assamese people, this travel advisory was issued.
It advises people of Assam not to go to Mizoram as there are threats to their life in that state. And for those already residing there due to work related obligations, upmost caution has been advised .
