Khumtai is a village located in the Golaghat district of Assam. And Destination Khumtai tourism event is underway to be hosted on the 14th of August in the village.
This one day celebration, Destination Khumtai will have a variety of events for everyone to enjoy. The first event of the day will be a cycle rally. The reporting time for the same is 6 AM and flags of at 6:30 AM. A treasure hunt / car rally will also be the next event. People will explore the region and collect different treasures hidden using a map. Chess and Rubik’s cube puzzles will be organised for the children who want to participate. Also there will be an angling competition throughout the day in the local wetland.
The participation fees for the bicycle rally is Rs. 150, and the participants will be provided with a T shirt and breakfast. The same for the car rally is Rs. 2500. T shirts, breakfast and lunch will be provided for two people per car. Chess and Rubik’s cube competitors will need to pay Rs. 65 each. Anglers can join with an entry fees of Rs. 3000. Each angler can use upto three rods and will be provided with lunch and a T shirt. Participants need not pay any additional entry fees, but for the rest, there will be a minimal entry fees.
Destination Khumtai has been curated under the vision of Mrinal Saikia, the Member of Legislative Assembly from Khumtai and organised y Adrian. This one day event on the eve of of the Independence Day aims to promote the concept of rural destination tourism. The event will kick off at 6 AM and end by 8 PM on the 14th of August. Traditional music and dance will also be a part of the event.
