England Exempts Quarantine for Travelers from 59 Countries

The U.K. Government on Friday announced that travelers from particular countries will not be required to undergo the 14 days quarantine upon return to the country starting from July 10. The list included a total of 59 countries. Italy, France, Germany are included in the list.

This rule applies to tourists or returnees coming through all modes of transport including flight, train, ferry etc.

The rule cited that if the tourist or returnee has not visited or stopped on any country or territory outside the listed ‘travel corridors’ then he/she will not have to be in self isolation on arrival.

If the condition in any of the listed countries worsen by any chance, the government will reintroduce the self-isolation requirements.

This step is welcomed wholeheartedly by the travel and tourism fraternity. The tourism industry is the worst hit sector due to the Covid-19 pandemic. With the closure of various transport and hospitality services, millions of employees have lost their jobs. And with European countries opening up gradually, the industry is hoping to bounce back to normal standards.
