The biggest airport in Northeast India, the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport of Guwahati has unveiled another service for its passengers. The Guwahati Airport has unveiled an improved free WiFi service for all passengers at the airport. They will be able to avail of two hours of unlimited data at high speeds at the airport from now on.
The authorities have announced it as one of the significant milestones towards improving the user experience. This service will be available for both domestic and international passengers at the airport.
According to the authorities, people will be avail of free wifi with a very simple process. The process involves accessing the registration portal from any mobile device. People can then enter their mobile numbers on the portal. Following this, a one-time password (OTP) will be sent to the number entered by the person. On entering this OTP, the passenger will be able to access two hours of unlimited data.
International passengers will also be able to access internet services via WiFi. They can pick up a coupon at the helpdesk to avail of these services. The same can be done from the newly installed WiFi kiosk machines at the arrival or security hold area. The coupons can be accessed by scanning the passports and boarding passes on these machines. Thus eliminating the need to visit the helpdesks. The coupons will allow them access to the WiFi network with two hours of unlimited access to the internet.
This service is another step towards the digitalisation of services at the airport. And making services more accessible and travelling easier at the airports by giving better connectivity. The network will have proper firewalls in place to prevent any access to restricted sites.
