In view of the increasing demand for connectivity to the northeastern part of the country, the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport had announced an increment in connectivity. The authorities have announced new flights to Patna and Varanasi. These fights will be available all weekdays. Spicejet Airline will be operating these new flight routes between Guwahati and Patna and Guwahati and Varanasi.
This is the latest addition to the connectivity of the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport. And it is part of the summer schedule of the airport. Also Spicejet has announced the deployment of a Bombardier aircraft for these routes. Thus, each of the flights will have only a single-class configuration. And a total of 80 seats will be available for the passengers in the Economy Class.
The inwards sector flight has been given the flight number SG – 2952. It will depart Guwahati at 5:55 AM and reach Patna at 7:50 AM. And the return flight will be flight SG – 2942 departing at 2:25 PM from Patna and reaching Guwahati at 4:05 PM. The second flight bears number SG – 2991 and departs Guwahati at 4:30 PM. It reaches Varanasi at 6:15 PM. And the return flight SG 2992 departs Varanasi at 6:45 PM and reaches Guwahati at 8:45 PM. As of now, these flights will be operational from the 10th of July to the 28th of October. Also authorities will take the decisions for continuing or discontinuing these flights for the winter schedule later.
Guwahati Airport has already increased its connectivity to several major airports in the country. These new routes will encourage more and more people to travel to these destinations from Northeast India and vice-versa. Varanasi is very popular as a destination for religious tourism. And Guwahati is the entry point to the Northeastern part of the country.

Another new flight service connects Guwahati to Bagdogra on Tuesday and Wednesday. Akasa has deployed a narrow-body Boeing aircraft with a single-class configuration on this route. Also this flight offers a total of 189 seats in Economy Class. The inward sector Flight QP 1372 departs Guwahati at 9:15 AM. And reaches Bagdogra at 10:15 AM. QP 1372 also departs Bengaluru at 5:40 AM to reach Guwahati at 8:40 AM on Tuesday and Wednesday.
